Wednesday May 14th 2008 - 19.30 In April the Hangar made its annual creative Art Trip - this time to the colourful town of Collioure. The trip was a success in all respects: Splendid surroundings, good painting potential, nice Spanish atmosphere and relaxed socializing! For the participants and all those who'd loved to have been there but had very good reasons to abstain we organize a "SHOW & TELL" Café Culture on the 14th. We will of course be showing our artwork, talk about the trip and project Video’s and Photo’s. Also for those members who were not sure whether to come but would perhaps participate next time this could be a convincingly interesting evening. All-in-all an entertaining evening with as usual a socializing character… Don’t miss this one!! |

Wednesday February 13th - 19:30 “Café Culture Cinéma” with a movie about Pablo Picasso. This excellent movie (15+ rated) uses the metaphor of the bull, very important in Picasso’s work, as he saw the raw sexual passion of the bull as his own. We see his pink and blue period and his highly engaged political period, especially in 1937, the Nazi bombing of Guernica. Picasso created his first work when he was 17 years old, on the deathbed of his mother. People say it is as good as a Rembrandt - especially for such a young person. The movie goes deeper into Pablo Picasso’s complicated relationships with women. A very passionate film dedicated to the life and work of one of the most important artists of all times! |
