Hangar Art Classes - Oil Painting

Participants work on their own, at their own level, in whatever style they like: figurative or abstract. Prior experience is not required, we welcome everybody: beginners, intermediate and those that are already quite experienced. There is a large choice of subjects and materials: painting on cotton/linen canvasses or hardboard. Some people use mixed techniques, like gluing paper on the canvas, applying sand, etc. Nelly is always ready to help and give advice, show techniques, tips and techniques on colors, shapes etc. The group is limited to 20 people. We bring our own material, like paint brushes, oil paints and our own canvas. Nelly can advice you on what colors and brushes to buy. She can also order paints and brushes for you from a catalogue for art materials. The class supplies you with turpentine, medium, hardboard panels to paint on, Gesso, acrylic paint to prepare your panels or canvasses, paper to draw on, charcoal etc.

We paint in a very cozy and friendly atmosphere, there is no competition, we drink coffee or tea when we take a break, during which we exchange ideas, advice, compliments, gossip, in different languages: English, French, Dutch, German….our group is very international.
